Feelin’ Stoked About Fedora 8…
A gem of innovative and cutting-edge technology has been found emerging from the settling dust storm that was Ubuntu 7.10 called Fedora 8 “Werewolf”. It’s due to be released on November 8th and there is a plethora of very exciting things about it that may convince users (including myself) to make a switch. Here are only some of the highlights:
- Enhanced Laptop Support
- Enhanced Bluetooth
- Enhanced Wireless Networking
- Codec Buddy
- Electronics Lab
- IcedTea (OpenSource Java Alternative)
- Pulse Audio
- Tickless Kernel
- Online Desktop

Needless to say, I will be making a partition for this jewel to experience it for myself. If you would like to as well, keep your eye out on the download links that will appear on the front page of http://fedoraproject.org/ when November 8th rolls around the corner.
