So how do I correct this? How could Ubuntu overlook such a elemental aspect of every day Web life - Flash Audio? This is what drives people, who are really trying to make the move to Linux, absolutely crazy. Even Linux Mint which is supposed to include all of the multimedia codecs, etc., doesn't work with Flash audio. Nor does Mandriva for that matter... Personally, I'm committed to Linux, but if we ever expect more migration from Windows to any Linux distro, it MUST be able to work seamlessly, and easily, in all environments as Windows. Otherwise, it will continue to be nothing more than an OS for hobbyists and geeks, and will never become a mainstream OS. Re. Does your sound work in other applications? It might be an issue with your hardware drivers if you don't get sound anywhere.
